Description

Instructions

1. Prepare the Apples

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a deep, ovenproof dish.
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into 1-inch thick pieces. Toss them with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. If using blackberries, layer them with the apples in the dish.

2. Make the Crumble Topping

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, oats (if using), sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the cold butter cubes. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Be careful not to overmix.

3. Assemble the Crumble

  1. Spread the prepared apples evenly in the greased baking dish.
